Flight & Ground Instruction: $60 per hour.
Private Pilot Training:
Learn to fly, I’ll teach you! If you have no experience, or already have some flight training and need to finish up your license I can help you obtain your goals. With the private pilot’s license you can fly a single engine airplane under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and take passengers along with you. Your passengers can help share the cost of the flight, but you are limited from flying commercially. The FAA States the minimum time to obtain a Private Pilot’s License is 40 flight hours, but the national average is between 60-80 hours. Plan on flying 3 times a week, and studying a few hours every day to minimize flight training expense. Most lessons are about 2 hours, of which about 1.5 hours are spent flying. I’ll help you create good habits, and go over everything you need to know to become a safe and proficient pilot.
Instrument Rating
Don’t let the clouds keep you on the ground. The instrument rating is an add on to the private pilot’s license and teaches you how to fly in the clouds safely. It requires a minimum of 40 hours of instrument time either actually in the clouds or under the hood.
Flight Reviews
If you already have your pilot’s license and need a flight review give me a call. I’ll get you back up to speed and back in the air in no time.
Instrument Proficiency Checks
If you are out of IFR currency or need an IPC for insurance reasons I can help you out. I’ve flown IFR all over the country, and have plenty of IFR experience from my days as a freight dog, flying in challenging weather single pilot at night and over mountains with nothing but steam gauges to guide me. I can help you become a better IFR pilot, and can help you master your techniques.
Rental Checkouts
Already have a pilot’s license and need to get checked out in a rental airplane? Call me up, I’ll schedule the plane in for you and get you set up to fly.
